I've taken a glance at my class rosters (of course they are not set in stone at this point) and there on one of my American Lit. rosters is Bianca. I would be lying if I said that I didn't sigh audibly. Bianca, one of the names that is continually mentioned around the school for being involved in yet another fight, suspension, etc. While reading about Kristen, all I could think about was Bianca. I do seem to get along with many of the students that other teachers don't, so I hope that is the case here. I'm sure she has a story...and if I have Bianca in class, hopefully I will be a teacher patient enough to get it out of her.

Yes, we all have a Kristen, a Biance, a Ryan. Thanks, Penny, for showing us, reminding us that we can't give up. Food does work...I use it (well, I'm not supposed to use it as a reward/motivator, but I do! It works!) I like the idea of a Grammar Lunch, but, at our school, we have club meetings at lunch, and I spend many of my lunches in meetings. I suppose I had just been selfish and used what lunches I have free as more free time for me. Isn't it exciting when a student tells you he/she wants to become a teacher? I found out this past spring that a former student of mine and my niece wants to be an English teacher! I'm so excited (and proud!)...Nice to think that they make these decisions because of the decisions we made/make in the classroom. Please tell me this true!
